One small thought, turning into Reality
I wrote this to myself about three months ago and it is now the underlying reason for starting SSDC. I forgot that I didn’t publish this in our blog, I think I was afraid of other people realizing how bad my writing is.
SO, it just dawned on me… I don’t care what people think about my writing, at least I’m writing. Right? Well, they say that practice makes perfect so I am going to keep practicing. Read at your own Risk.
September 13 2010,
Let me just tell you that I have learned a “few things” over the past year. I think you could say that I have learned more “things” in this past year, than my entire 5 year University of Florida college education. Lately, I  have figured out a way to learn more.  I think it is due to my subconscious way of thinking.  I will call this mind-map-concept, “Learning how, to Learn more.”
Although this concept was subconsciously thought of, Â I have realized in order to keep subconsciously learning I have to put myself in concious situations. Situations that will provoke the “learning instrument” in me. Some of which I have found to be very tangible. These tangible learning situations are #1.) Always surround yourself with people that stimulate the mind and #2.) Surround yourself with People who are always striving for more.
I don’t know how a little email recieved today has turned into this! So… nevertheless, back to my point, this goes hand-and hand with the ever so, Key West surfer talk, that I have been confined to, for the past 15 years. The “hey dude’s,” and  the “what’s up cuzzy’s,” have just simply gotten old.
Well, as you know my daily dialog hasn’t been the greatest since I have been back home, but somehow Tina and I have figured out a way to help this problem. Â That is to surround yourself with those great people. Your probably wondering where did I find them? Where do you find incredible, Brillant, mind expanding, loving, driven people? Â They are in each city and in each and every country, right? I think my answer is the University of Florida. J/k But seriously that is where I found them.
LOLÂ (I am not insinuating that I don’t have wonderful people and intellectual conversations in Key west, because I truly do. Â I am just saying that those conversations are few and far between.)
So, how do I surround myself with such BRILLIANT people? Not literally speaking but figuratively speaking, with a simple click of my mouse or the touch of my finger. That is how I keep in contact with the most brilliant women in the world!!! It is the world wide web. Another one of those amazing learning instruments I was talking about.
Now, without further ado, let me formally introduce … The Intelligent, The jaw-dropping, The spiritual, The wonderful women prehistorically known as the “darkside,” or otherwise now known as, the “Vixens of 1605.” Â Not to brag but, they are the best and I mean the BEST!
I am telling you this because, although I am physically in key west, my heart and soul can be anywhere with these incredible women, learning and growing. They are one Skype call away. They are a group of amazing and talented women have led me to perceive the world so magnificently through their beautiful eyes.
I am not posting this to make anyone envious for not having such a tightly nit, loving and BRILLIANT group of friends, but to tell you that these people exist!! I know because I have them in my life. Â So just keep looking. All you have to do is open your heart and let them in, one click at a time.
Lastly this was the email that triggered this random thought. I received it from Natalie Castellanos on our 1605 listserv.
She wrote,” It’s funny how circumstances are always looping around like a rollercoaster… sometimes we’re slowly trudging up a steep incline anticipating the next exhilarating drop, sometimes free-falling fearfully, sometimes twisting and turning, upside and inside out, sometimes screaming, sometimes laughing, sometimes there are tears, some smiles. Fear and fun – the rollercoaster of life! Hope you’re all at a good point on the ride… and if you’re not, have faith that you’re still moving along, probably faster than you think… and if you’re enjoying the ride and seeing the beauty, then cheers to you… que lo disfrutes profundamente.”
See I told you soo!!! I am so lucky! I just I had to tell the world. Â ——- to the 1605 Vixens I love you guys.
Hope you liked my simple thoughts:)
Peace, Love and Happiness
